Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-10-27

This Privacy Policy explains how JrodCode ("we", "us" or "our"), a web design and development studio in Murrieta, California, collects, uses and protects information when you visit jrodcode.com (the "Site") or contact us through it. We keep data collection to what we need to respond to you.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you request a free homepage preview, the form collects:

  • Your name and business name
  • Email address
  • Phone number (optional)
  • City and the type of website you need, chosen from a list
  • What your business does (optional free text)
  • The language you used on the Site (English or Spanish)
  • The date and time of your request

If you email or call us, we receive the information you choose to share, such as your email address, phone number and the content of your message.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our server and hosting provider receive technical information when you load a page, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to deliver the Site, keep it secure and limit abuse (for example, rate-limiting repeated form submissions). We do not use this information to build a profile about you. The form also uses a hidden anti-spam field and a submission timer; these do not identify you.

2. Cookies and local storage

We do not use advertising cookies, analytics tools, tracking pixels or social media trackers.

  • Theme preference: if you choose Light or Dark mode, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage under "jrod-theme" so the Site remembers it. It never leaves your device. Choosing Auto removes it.
  • Language: your language is set by the page address (/ for English, /es/ for Spanish). It is not stored in a cookie.
  • Admin session: our team's dashboard uses a secure, httpOnly sign-in cookie. It is only set for authorized staff who sign in, not for visitors.

3. How we use information

  • To respond to your request, prepare your free homepage preview and discuss a possible project.
  • To communicate with you by email or phone about your request.
  • To operate, maintain and secure the Site, and to prevent spam and abuse.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making, and we do not send marketing emails unless you ask us to.

4. How information is stored and protected

Form submissions are stored in a database on our own web server and can be viewed only by authorized members of our team through a password-protected dashboard. We use HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, secure session cookies, security headers, input validation and rate limiting to protect the Site and your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Sharing and third parties

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law. We have not done so in the past 12 months. We share information only:

  • With service providers that help us run the Site, such as our web hosting provider (Hostinger), which stores and serves the Site and its database on our behalf.
  • With Google Fonts: the Site loads its fonts from Google's servers, so your browser sends your IP address and browser information to Google when a page loads. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
  • When required by law, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or sale.

Links to other websites, including client and project sites, are governed by their own privacy policies.

6. How long we keep information

We keep preview requests and related messages for as long as needed to respond to you and, if you become a client, for the length of our working relationship and any period required for legal, tax or accounting purposes. If we do not work together, we periodically delete old requests from our dashboard, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time. Server logs kept by our hosting provider are retained according to its own policies.

7. Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you may have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), to the extent they apply to us:

  • Right to know what personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes and the categories of third parties we disclose it to.
  • Right to access a copy of your personal information.
  • Right to delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share it.
  • Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect sensitive personal information through the Site.
  • Right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will verify your request by confirming information you have already given us, such as your email address, and respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf; we may ask for proof of authorization.

The categories of personal information described in section 1 are identifiers (name, email, phone), commercial information (your business details and request) and internet activity information (technical data received by our server). We collect them from you directly and from your browser, for the purposes in section 3.

8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Under the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), we disclose how we respond to "Do Not Track" signals. Because we do not track visitors across websites or over time and do not use third-party tracking, the Site works the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. We would honor a Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of sale or sharing, which we do not do.

9. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for business owners and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 for purposes of California law). If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add new tools to the Site. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will make them clear on this page.

11. Language

This Privacy Policy is available in English and Spanish. If there is any conflict between the versions, the English version controls.
